Beach photography session 12.29.06

2006 has been a crazy year for us. Tonight the year came to a close with our last session. Our third beach photography session of the week at the Hotel Del Coronado here in beautiful San Diego.



Here is my favorite shot of the night, the sunset silouette with a starburst effect. No Photoshopping here, this was done right in the camera!



Another favorite, a five generation photo with baby, Dad, Grandma, Great Grandma and Grandpa and Great, Great Grandma. Wow!

Family beach photography at the Hotel Del Coronado

It has been a busy week for us at the Hotel Del Coronado, and we had another shoot there on Thursday evening. Originally scheduled for Wednesday, but for some crazy reason none of us wanted to do it in the wind and rain.



Thursday evening was perfectly clear and beautiful - perfect for beach photography. Clear, orange skies made for beautiful backdrops at sunset.

Newborn photography session 12.28.06

If only they were all like this. Jack visited our studio today, and he was the perfect newborn baby. Awake, alert, looking around, eyes open, moving, giving us different looks and angles, barely fussed and didn't pee or poop once (that's a first)!



Mommy and Jack's big sister were in for a maternity photography session a few weeks back, and we were anxious to meet Jack now that he has arrived. He was just a doll.

Family beach photo session 12.23.06

Tonight's photo shoot was a family of six at our usual location at the Hotel Del Coronado. A clear blue sky made for beautiful photos and a nice, clear sunset. Here are a few of my favorite photographs from the session:

Kip & Samantha's wedding 12.16.2006

Yesterday we had the privilege of photographing a beautiful wedding at the College Avenue Baptist Church. The church was beautiful, but very big and very dark (ceremony at 5pm). Lighting was a challenge, but we came through with flying colors - the photos look great.

Everyone was fantastic to work with, it was a very laid back and fun wedding. No major problems, unless you count Kip losing track of the wedding vows, which actually made for a very funny and lightening minute or two.

Samantha's dress was just amazing, and she was glowing the whole day. All of the formals came out great, and the ceremony photos look awesome as well.

After the ceremony, it was off to Marina Village for the reception. Great food, drinks and some very funny toasts were enjoyed by everyone.

Maternity Photography 12.13.06

This evening we had the pleasure of meeting Marshall and Angelic, who are expecting their son on January 7th. When Alex is just a week or two old, we'll also be shooting their newborn photos. Thank you for hiring us for your maternity and newborn photos, we'll be seeing you again in a couple of weeks!

Company Christmas party 12.09.06

Last night I had the privilege of shooting portraits at the Inovio Christmas Party, which was held at Paradise Point in San Diego. After spending some time trying to figure out exactly where we could set up the studio equipment, we finally chose a location and got set up.

It was fun meeting a lot of great people, and we got some lovely photographs as well. Thank you to the folks at Inovio!

Baby photos 12.02.06

Today we enjoyed photographing a three month old baby girl and her Mommy and Daddy. The baby did pretty well, but eventually being a model for the day wore her down and she passed out for the last part of the session.

We did some of our favorite black on black photos and some of them turned out very nicely. We'll be doing baby photos of her at 6, 9 and 12 months also, so we'll have the chance to see this little beauty grow through her first year.

Engagement photos at the Hotel Del Coronado

Tonight was an easy shoot - Johnny and Jenn's engagement portraits at the Hotel Del Coronado. We'll be shooting their wedding in La Jolla next Summer as well.

Ahhhhh, young love. These two were naturals in front of the camera - not much directing required on my part. ;) Plenty of kissing shots, I might add.

We got quite a varitey of beach photos, as well as some beautiful ones in front of the Hotel Del at the end of the session.

A good time was had by all....and we got one or two pretty darn good photos too!
