Our Best Friend has left us.

The photos from the previous post were taken on Sunday. By Thursday of the following week Bailey had lost all feeling and control of both rear legs and was unable to stand. On Friday morning we took him to the emergency vet clinic and at approximately 10:30am Baliey died in our arms.

It was one of the most difficult things we have ever done, and I can't remember the last time I cried so hard.

It was so very hard to lose him, but we feel so much better knowing that we did get these last few photographs with him. This is why we do what we do - photographs preserve memories in such a very special way. Our photo with Bailey will soon be framed and hung over our fireplace, along with a box containing his ashes.

Good bye old friend.

OUR Family Beach Photos at the Hotel Del Coronado

Tonight we finally had the chance to do our own family photos over at the Hotel Del Coronado. Our good friend Michele from Captured Forever Photography here in San Diego came out to help us get some family photos. With our dog Bailey suffering from cancer and not doing very well lately, we knew that it was time to get a few last photos with him.

We started out in front of the hotel with Bailey and got several great photos including this one:



Bailey did not join us on the beach because we thought it would be too much for him. But Michele got some fantastic photos of the three of us on the beach and in the water:

High School Senior Photos at Ocean Beach and Pier

Tonight I met with Amelia at the Ocean Beach Pier for some senior photos. The sun hid behind the clouds for us just as we got started, so no colorful sunset. But we got plenty of great photos. Here are a few favorites:

San Diego High School Senior Photos at The Hotel Del

Last night I met with Ashley at the Hotel Del Coronado here in San Diego. Ashley is a 2009 senior from Wisconsin. I'm guessing that not too many of her classmates got to shoot their senior photos at the beach...?
