Saturday evening I met with the Guerrero family of 15 at the Hotel Del Coronado for some fun family beach photography. We shot individual photos of the kids, some small family photos and of course some big group photos. We had the perfect evening - warm, a beautiful sunset, and not even the slightest breeze. And the fact that Summer is over meant fewer people at the beach.

This morning I met with the Leinen family, visiting San Diego from Texas. We had a great, mostly overcast morning at the beach. Their 18 month old Daughter had absolutely no fear of the ocean, so we had to keep reeling her in. Here are a few favorites from this fun family photo shoot at Coronado Beach:

This evening I had the pleasure of photographing the Dudley family from SLC, Utah. We had a crystal clear sunny sky to shoot under tonight. Here's an early family shot.

Friday morning I photographed the Wallin family at the Hotel Del Coronado. It was a beautifully overcast and still morning, perfect for photography.

First the entire family, complete with the fake blue sky (sssssssh, it'll be our little secret).



Next a couple of individual families (no fake blue sky here, just the real deal - grey).

This evening I spent a couple of hours photographing this family from Nashville, TN.



Grandma, Grandpa, Mom, Dad and three kids - a group of seven nicely dressed in black (I'm a big fan of black, wish more people would wear black instead of white).

This evening I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing the Castillo family, from San Diego, Oakland and Atlanta.



And as luck would have it - it was overcast! Thank God, finally a beach session that wasn't in full sun! Phew. No sun meant we could actually get some photos with the hotel in the background.

Friday evening I had the pleasure of meeting the Garrison family from Kansas. A beautiful family with three wonderful and photogenic children.



We shot in several different places on the beach, and got a lot of great differnt angles and photos. Here's a very cool silhouette.



It was a perfect night at the beach, and throughout the evening we were treated to dolphins swimming just off shore. We also got some cool photos with the waves crashing in behind them.



The Garrisons officially are the current leaders in the "Best Sunset of 2007" category. The sunset last night was amazing!

Wednesday evening I met with the Dwyer family from Arizona, Wyoming and Colorado for a fun family beach portrait session at the Del.



Great family, fun to work with, and a lot of great photographs.

Tonight I photographed a fun family of four from Arizona (note: it was about 45 degrees cooler here at sunset than it has been this week in Phoenix). San Diego is a popular tourist attraction to Arizona residents this time of year. First shot of the day:



Great family, fun session with a lot of variety. Some posed, some casual.

Sisters - shoot at the Hotel Del Coronado 06.01.07

This evening I had the pleasure of meeting Megan and Heather. They are Sisters and we did a photo shoot of the two of them at the Hotel Del Coronado.



We started out in the inner courtyard of the hotel, one of my favorite places. The hotel was nice enough to have a bunch of tables and chairs set up, so we had to work around those. Here's a serious shot of Heather:



Lucky for me, it was an overcast evening (woo hoo, great for ligthing). If I only had a dollar for every bright sunny day that I had to photograph at the beach - UGH! Here's a serious shot of Megan:



We then moved out to the beach for some photos by the lifeguard tower and finally at the concrete wall. Last photo of the day here:

This evening I had the pleasure of photographing Butch and Cecilia, who are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary (congratulations!!)



We did some photos at the hotel and out on the beach, some in more formal clothing and the rest in casual clothing.



It was a beautiful evening, a tad breezy and chilly but clear and sunny.
